React Job: Full Stack Developer

We are looking for a driven and creative full-stack developer to join our existing in-house team of talented and dedicated developers.

The role is varied and covers all elements of web application development, requiring advanced competency with PHP, JavaScript, MySQL – a full list of the required and desired skills is listed below.

The right candidate will have a passion for creative problem-solving, idea generation and producing efficient code. They will enjoy working as a team as well as focusing on their own short-term and long-term projects.

We have a long history in bespoke ecommerce development and following a buyout significant investment in recent years have concentrated our experience into a new generation SaaS product. This role will be primarily focused on this new version of the platform.

As a result of investment and market effects the company has seen significant growth in the last 2 years, and this role being created along with recent and ongoing hirers is part of the ongoing growth strategy.

Role description

Location and hours

• Full-time (40 hours per week)

Key Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining high-quality, responsive web applications
• Taking project requirements and translating them into technical specifications
• Working closely with other development team members
• Implementing current best practices and coding standards
• Keeping up to date with industry trends and technologies
• Providing input into future developments

Required (must-have) skills

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in a similar role

Backend

• PHP 7+
• Laravel 5.5+ / Symfony 5+
• MySQL 5.7+ / PostgreSQL 13+

Frontend

• HTML5
• Modern JavaScript (ES6+)
• Bootstrap 5
• CSS + SASS
• jQuery
• DataTables

Other

• Git
• Developing REST APIs
• 3rd party services integrations
• Working with and customising Bootstrap-based themes

Desired (nice-to-have) skills

Infrastructure

• Comfortable using Linux as well as installing/configuring/debugging Linux services
• Comfortable deploying applications to cloud and investigating potential issues
• Laravel Homestead
• Experience using Google Cloud Platform (Google App Engine) / Amazon Web Services / Microsoft Azure
• Docker
• Experience using Plesk

Backend

• Redis/Memcached
• RabbitMQ or similar message broker
